The annual Gala is The Children's Health Fund's premier fund-raising event, and one of New York City's most important corporate events. The 2005 Gala raised nearly $1.2 million and honored Jean-Pierre Garnier, PhD, Chief Executive Officer of GlaxoSmithKline, and the company for its ten years of supporting CHF through the Referral Management Initiative (RMI). There were more than 600 supporters and corporate leaders in attendance at the Hilton New York, and the event was hosted by Jane Pauley and featured a very special performance by CHF co-founder Paul Simon. Robert Essner, Chairman, President and CEO of Wyeth, was the 2005 Gala Chair.
