CHF Launches Haiti Crisis Response Initiative in So. Florida

Children's Health Fund's South Florida Program, serves the largest Haitian-American community in the country, and has seen a growing number of recently arrived patients, many of them children, who have been impacted by the disaster in Haiti. CHF will expand the capacity of the South Florida Children’s Health Project in order to serve the influx of Haitian children. The Response Initiative includes adding a Creole-speaking mobile medical team to provide medical and mental health services to an additional 1,000 children/annually.

In This Case, Time Will Hurt Rather Than Heal

As a doctor for medically underserved children, I see the effects of our broken health care system every day. The majority of children that I see at the community health center where I work are either uninsured or are underinsured even though the many of them have at least one working parent.

New York Knicks point guard Chris Duhon is partnering up with the Children’s Health Fund (CHF) to use his assists to support our work. Duhon will donate $100 for every assist he has in the regular season to the Children’s Health Fund upon its conclusion.

University of Miami's Pediatric Mobile Clinic gives kids access to healthcare

The University of Miami's Pediatric Mobile Clinic brings healthcare to hundreds of children across Miami-Dade. Initially formed by Children's Health Fund and the University of Miami to serve the needs of families affected by Hurricane Andrew, the mobile clinic enters its 18th year, with a continued goal of providing free comprehensive health care for children in underserved communities.
