My Family Disaster Plan

This brochures is targeted at parents and caregivers.  My Family Disaster Plan offers tips and suggestions on how a family can think ahead and plan ahead for any disaster including putting a plan together that addresses water and food needs, shelter and supplies, communication and the community.  My Family Disaster Plan was developed by experts from the NationalCenterfor Disaster Preparedness (NCDP) at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and was supported by a grant from “Idol Gives Back.”

My Hurricane Safety Plan: Child's Checklist

This worksheet complements the Parent Guide to My Hurricane Safety Plan and is a tool for parents and caregivers to use with their children when discussing how to prepare if a hurricane is coming.  My Hurricane Safety Plan was developed by clinicians and staff from the New Orleans Children’s Health Project and was supported by a grant from the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
