Launched in 2002, the Power of Play Initiative brings joy into the lives of homeless and at-risk children by teaching parents how to foster healthy physical and cognitive development through play. The program engages homeless and other at-risk families in educational activities, interactive parent-child play, and provides anticipatory guidance to approximately 15,000 children each year.
To enhance the program, Children's Health Fund (CHF) has developed a Power of Play brochure in English and Spanish. Each year, the program distributes more than 20,000 brochures throughout the CHF National Network.
