New York – Children’s Health Fund (CHF), a leading nonprofit dedicated to expanding children’s healthcare access in the United States, today announced the appointment of Craig Gold, partner at Siegel & Reiner LLP, and Emad H. Khalil, partner at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP, as new members of the organization’s board of directors.
“Prioritizing children’s healthcare is as crucial as ever, as lack of insurance, geographical barriers, pandemic fallout, poverty, and other social drivers of health threaten the well-being of children across the country,” said Donald H. Layton, Children’s Health Fund Board chair. “Committed and skillful governance will help us respond to children’s needs now and in the future, and we are honored to welcome these two esteemed leaders to the Children’s Health Fund Board of Directors.”
As a partner at Siegel & Reiner, Craig Gold leads the firm’s corporate transactional practice, counseling clients on a range of commercial matters and issues related to their day-to-day operations, and has particular experience representing buyers, sellers, and lenders across the finance, real estate, communications, and not-for-profit sectors. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
“As a longtime supporter and friend of CHF, I believe deeply in this organization’s mission to bring healthcare to children in areas where it is most out of reach,” said Gold. “I am grateful for the opportunity to more thoroughly support this work at this crucial time.”
“CHF has been fortunate to have benefited from Mr. Gold’s expert advice and guidance for several years. We are thrilled to now have his knowledge and experience to help lead our work from the inside as a member of our board of directors,” said Arturo Brito, Children’s Health Fund president and CEO.
As a partner at Gibson Dunn, Emad Khalil has represented clients throughout the world on matters involving U.S. and cross-border investments, acquisitions, and joint ventures, including in the healthcare sector. Born in Cairo, Egypt and fluent in Arabic, Khalil is a graduate of Cornell University and Harvard Law School.
“Health is at the forefront of our children’s well-being, and their pathway to successful futures,” said Khalil. “I am delighted to join Children’s Health Fund at such a pivotal point for children’s healthcare.”
“Having a board member with Mr. Khalil’s level of experience and international and cross-cultural perspective will be of immeasurable value to CHF,” said Arturo Brito. “We are excited to have his skill and guidance to help us to more effectively serve children and families across the country.”
