Community Health Equity and Engagement Roundtables (CHEERs)
Clarksdale, Mississippi
Children’s Health Fund and our partners at Aaron E. Henry Community Health Services Center hosted a CHEER on August 31, 2021 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. This roundtable focused on the community’s lack of recreation space and the resulting effects on mental and physical health.
Trenton, New Jersey
Children’s Health Fund and our partners at Henry J. Austin Health Center hosted a CHEER on April 13, 2022 in Trenton, New Jersey. This roundtable focused on the community’s siloed resources and lack of local advocates.
Washington, D.C.
Children’s Health Fund and our partners at Children’s National Hospital hosted a CHEER on June 27th, 2022. This roundtable focused on food insecurity and the communication of resources in Washington D.C.’s Anacostia community.
Boston, Massachusetts
Children’s Health Fund and new collaborators at The Dimock Center hosted a CHEER on December 14 and 15, 2022 in Boston. This roundtable focused on developing a street teams initiative to engage local residents around heart health.
Trenton, New Jersey (Phase 2)
Children’s Health Fund and our partners at Henry J. Austin Health Center reconvened community stakeholders for a second Trenton CHEER on June 22, 2023. This roundtable focused on opportunities for community collaboration to address siloed services.
Sherman Indian High School
Children’s Health Fund partnered with Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, CA on October 27, 2023. Students representing Indigenous tribal communities from across the country developed a novel school-based initiative to promote health and wellness on campus.
Healthy and Ready to Learn/LIFT- New York
Jackson, Tennessee
Children’s Health Fund and our partners at LeBonheur Children’s convened stakeholders in Jackson, TN on January 24, 2024 to develop innovative approaches to address food insecurity in the expanding community.
Conyers, Georgia
Children’s Health Fund partnered with Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential to host a CHEER on August 6, 2024 in Conyers, Georgia. This CHEER convened community members from Rockdale and Newton County to identify local adolescent health priorities and develop community-driven initiatives.
South Bronx, New York
Children’s Health Fund collaborated with our Healthy & Ready to Learn program to host a follow-up CHEER with members of the South Bronx community on November 6, 2024. Participants representing parents, caregivers, teachers, school leadership, and administrators developed an initiative that enhances collaboration between schools and families while promoting mental health through workshops and movement-based programming.
