Nearly 10 years ago, thanks to the alarm sounded by pediatrician Dr. Mona Hanna-Attisha, many in the United States learned about the dangerous levels of lead in the Flint, Mich., water supply. While disturbing at the time, what’s even more concerning is that almost a decade later, the presence of lead in water systems throughout the nation continues to be a significant public health concern.
