For this year’s celebration of Juneteenth, Children’s Health Fund (CHF) joins with others across the nation in reflecting on the meaning and promise of freedom—including being free from obstacles and oppression that prevent people from living productive, fulfilling, and healthy lives. While we recognize that there is still much that needs to be done, it is also a time to take account of progress that has been made in advancing justice, racial equity, and access to quality healthcare—all which are key to achieving true freedom for all.
On this day, CHF, and our national partners, also reaffirm our commitment to provide children in under-resourced U.S. communities access to the quality medical, dental, mental health, and social services they need to thrive and succeed. We believe that healthcare, like freedom, is a basic human right, which no one should be denied.
